I tell ya, I'm on fire :-) Just started to put up sections covering Javascript and Vector Markup Language (VML). Not many samples in them right now, but hopefully that will change soon.
What's New
Well goodness, have ya ever seen me so busy? I've just put up a little page for the ol' wife, Angel, under the family section complete with a compilation of some of her incredible pictures she has been taking lately. Go take a look.
Ok, got my first, and only, scriptlet posted and with it a small overview page of scriptlets in general. It's a half-decent (if I do say so myself) news scroller that works in all IE versions since 4.0.
Spent a few hours and got most of the functionality of the WYSIWYG Editor going on the site the other day. About the only features not working are Spellchecking and Printing. Both of which are normally restricted due to the default security settings in your browser.
Here in the next day or so, I'll try and put up a scriptlet I wrote years ago to replace a Java-based scroller.
Finally got around to something I've always said I was going to do once I had a host that supported it and that is putting up the XML version of my resume and having it transformed on the server to different output formats.
I've got three different XSLT files up to support transformations into RTF (Word), Text, and HTML. Still need to due a few small formatting changes here and there on the various formats and convert the wife's resume over into XML. But, overall, I'm fairly pleased with the results. Go take a look over in the Resumes section.
Well, I've ditched the frames (at least temporarily) and moved to a CSS-based layout that hopefully works in the newer browsers and degrades somewhat nicely in the older ones. What prompted the redesign was basically my desire to have the site easily indexed by search engines. I had some ideas on how to achieve that and work around the inherit linking issues that arise with a framed site but I just don't have enough time at the moment to tackle all of that. I'm still not convinced leaving frame behind is the way forward. In fact, the problems I ran into just doing this little site pretty much convinced me frames are still a viable option.
Next up will be a different style (color wise) for the site as well as some more code in the Code section.
Well lookie, I've finally got around to finishing that redesign and producing something that isn't totally ugly. Still a work-in-progress though so expect to see some more subtle adjustments in the following weeks and some extra content.
